The short Alaskan summer months fly by because we are out enjoying the midnight sun, the fish in the rivers and streams and camping along the beach relishing the last moments of summer. Unfortunately we leave our exterior home projects on the back burner because the front door no longer has that cold draft or the ice is no longer backing up creating an ice dam on our roof causing worry in our mind…after all the weather is warm the winds are welcome and an occasional rain is needed. As an Alaskan owned and operated company that has been servicing our state for over 52 years we recommend that all home and building owners annually have their roof’s looked over to make sure that when the weather shifts there are no surprises, we also recommend that if you are looking for an estimate to reroof you seek more than one estimate. It is important that the company you choose is licensed, bonded and insured it is also appropriate to ask for references of past jobs completed to ensure your comfort level. A new roof is an investment and you need to make sure you are protected, a reputable company will give you the names of additional roofing companies to have estimate your project. If there are any issues with the work done you need to be confident that you will be able to locate your roofer after you have paid them, the various manufacturer’s sites will typically have lists of companies they believe to be quality installer’s. Make sure you are getting the quality and service you are paying for.
